• Notes

  "John Cutten and John Cutten the younger, both of Newbury, were joint masters of the Desire of Boston in 1641, as stated in the account of the older man, and there can be little doubt that they were father and son." [Walter Goodwin Davis, citation details below] His birth date, death date, and wife are unknown, but it seems likely that he died shortly after Dec 1642, and that Mary Cutting, wife of Samuel Moody of Newbury, was his only child.
