  "Simon [...] joined the barons against King John in 1215. In November of that year his lands in Brixworth were committed to Roland Bloet, but were later given to his wife, Beatrice of Brixworth. She also had a grant of an aid to be levied from those of Simon's knights and free tenants who had aided the rebels, to acquit him of the fine made for his redemption."
