Notes - Called in one record Hosea. His name is on the Founders' Monument in downtown Hartford. Records of him are scanty, but he first appears in Hartford about February 1640. He was one of the "withdrawers" who signed the agreement to establish themselves at Hadley rather than accept the Rev. Samuel Stone, but he never actually moved.
Although his parents are unknown, he is known to have been a brother of William Goodwin.
