  He was married three times, first to Margaret Rice of Bures St. Mary, Suffolk; second to Elizabeth North of Colchester, Essex; and third, at Bures St. Mary, to Susan Brand of Boxford, Suffolk. His Visitation pedigree credits son Thomas to his first wife, but from chronological evidence his daughter Elizabeth is almost certainly a daughter of the second or third, since she was married about 1594 and had a child born as late as 1614.
