Notes - On March 10, 1792, Thomas Withers appointed Joseph Lewis of Nelson County, Kentucky to act as his attorney "to superintend his land business in Kentucky." It is impossible not to wonder if this Joseph Lewis might have been related to PNH's great-great-great grandfather Joseph Lewis who was born in Breckinridge County, Kentucky in about 1814. Breckinridge County was created from a piece of Hardin County in 1799; Hardin County was created from a piece of Nelson County in 1792.
