• Notes

  Anderson and Threlfall (citation details below) call her "possibly" the Elizabeth Bradbury who d. 13 Aug 1536. The visitations of Cambridge call her a daughter of "Tho. Bendish of Barington", but Kirkpatrick (citation details below) notes that the only Thomas Bendish of Barrington in Cambridgeshire was born about 1480 and died in 1520, too young to be her father. Kirkpatrick makes a reasonable case that her father was actually William Bendysshe/Bendish of Barrington who died in 1492, a son of Edmund Bendysshe (d. 1474) and Eleanor St. George.
