  • Notes
    • He arrived in Plymouth in 1631, and removed to Marshfield by 1643. His eldest brother was Edward Winslow (1595-1655), Mayflower passenger and tenth governor of the Plymouth colony.

He was a joiner. He was literate, and held a variety of public offices in Plymouth and Marshfield. In May 1645 he was accused of "opprobrious words against the church of Marshfield, saying they were all liars &c.," and imprisoned for refusing to "find sureties for his good behavior." He remained in prison until the next General Court. Despite this, he continued to hold important town and colony offices for the next ten years.
