  As pointed out by Donald Lines Jacobus in 1954 (citation details below), he and his wife were were ancestral to both George Washington and Queen Elizabeth II. "A great-granddaughter of Col. Warner married Robert Porteus of Newbottle, Virginia, who settled in England in 1720, and through the Porteus, Hodgson and Smith families, the American strain was transmitted to the Bowes-Lyon family of which the Dowager Queen is a member."
