• Notes

  He first appears in New England in Dedham records in 1636. He was in Medfield by 1651. He may have been a brother to Richard and Joseph Ellis of Dedham and thus presumably another son of their mother, the unnamed widow of an unnamed man named Ellis who married, as her second husband, Lambert Chenery, and came with him and her two Ellis sons to New England in 1636 and settled at Dedham.
