  "When seventeen years of age he served in the Colonial forces in King Philip's War; in the Spring of 1676 he was in Capt. John Whipple's company, scouting along the Connecticut River, receiving £3-8-6; in the Summer of 1676 he was in Capt. Jonathan Poole's company on garrison duty in the Connecticut Valley towns, receiving £1-11-0; his name also appears under Watertown soldiers credited £3-3-6.
