Notes - Corporal of the Connecticut Troop of Cavalry from 1658; quartermaster in May 1673; ensign of the Hartford County Dragoons, Aug 1675; ensign of the Hartford County Troop, Oct 1675; commissioned Captain in the Army 30 Nov 1675, in place of his son Samuel's father-in-law Benjamin Newberry, who was disabled.
He was killed in the Great Swamp Fight during King Philip's War.
