- Also spelled Wyott.
From her Wikitree page:
There were two Margaret Wyatts born in Braunton at approximately the same time, and these are the only two girls named Margaret Wyatt whose births are recorded in the Braunton parish records between 1538 and 1592. A Margret, daughter of Phillip Wyott, was baptized at Braunton on 5 Sept 1555. Another Margret, this one the daughter of Walter Wyott, was baptized at Braunton on 19 May 1557.
It is unknown which of these Margaret Wyatts became the wife of Richard Allen. However, Walter Wyatt is probably a better fit. Had she been the daughter of Philip, she would have been 28 years of age at the time of her marriage, highly unlikely for the time period.
——
Walter Wyatt, plausible father of this Margaret Wyatt as explained above, was a son of TNH and DDB ancestors Philip Wyatt and his wife Joan Paty.
