Notes - Sheriff of Lancashire 1282, 1291, 1300. The Ancestry of Dorothea Poyntz states that he was under-sheriff of Lancashire in 1298-1301. "Townships: Hoghton" in volume 6 of VCH Lancaster (citation details below) says he was "sheriff of the county" in 1298, and that he "seems to have held the office for three years."
