Notes - Graduated from Yale in 1839, one of the early members of Skull and Bones. Studied medicine in Boston for a year, and eventually settled in Jacksonville, Illinois, where he was a member of the board of education. He planned and oversaw the construction of the city's water-works and laid out the Diamond Grove Cemetery, where he was buried.
