• Notes

  Described by VCH Somerset (volume 4, "Parishes: Hinton St. George", pp. 38-52) as "an adherent of the rebellious Richard Marshal", which (assuming he fought at the battle of Monmouth, 1233) would likely put his birth at approximately 1190-1210.
