  • Notes
    • "A leader of the Fourth Crusade, Apr 1202. Defeated at the battle of Adrianople, Mar 1205, by the forces of Kaloyan, Tsar of the Bulgars, he was taken prisoner and executed, though the circumstances of his death are not precisely known. The Byzantine historian George Acropolites reports that the Tsar Kaloyan had Baudouin's skull made into a drinking cup." [The Ancestry of Dorothea Poyntz]
