    • He was a weaver. First seen in Salem, then Southhold, Long Island, then in East Hampton by 1653, where he was constable in 1661. Moved back to Salem, Massachusetts in 1667 or 1668.

      Possibly a son of Ambrose Meacham of Crewkerne, Somerset, whose 1613 will names a son "Jere:" who is unmentioned in any subsequent records.
