  • Notes
    • Carl Boyer's Ancestral Lines (citation details below) gives Richard Borden and Joan Fowle a second-of-her-name daughter Mary, born April 1656, and assigns her, instead of the daughter Mary baptized in 1633, as the wife of "John Cook of Portsmouth", saying she "d. before 1691." But whether this second Mary existed or not, she cannot have been John Cooke's wife and the mother of children born in the 1650s.
