• Notes

  That the mother of Elizabeth Robinson who married Nathaniel Whitney was Elizabeth Cutter, daughter of Richard Cutter, was established in 1879 by William R. Cutter (citation details below), when he showed that on 2 Jan 1726/7, Nathaniel and Mary Whitney of Watertown quitclaimed their right in Richard Cutter's estate, being the right of their mother Elizabeth Robinson (alias Cutter) deceased. Note that Richard Cutter had another daughter Elizabeth by his second wife; she married Nathaniel Hall of Medford in 1690, and is called "Elizabeth, now Hall" in Richard Cutter's will. Michael Roman (citation details below) points out that this Elizabeth Cutter must have died by 1693 as she does not appear in William Robinson's will.
