    Other Events and Attributes:

    • Alternate birth: Abt 1916

    Notes:

Entering the US at Port Huron, Michigan on 6 Aug 1934, she listed her occupation as "student", her destination as "Flint, Mich.", her purpose in coming to the US as "Reside Perm.", and her answer to the question "going to join" was "Parents c/o Everett L. White, 1605 Kearsley Park Rd., Flint". Which supports the idea of a longstanding connection between her and her brother-in-law Everett White -- see the entry for her son Paul Parker Cameron (Jr.).

Edith married Paul Parker Cameron on 29 May 1940 in Marlette, Sanilac, Michigan. Paul was born on 24 Jul 1912 in Morning Sun, Louisa, Iowa; died on 19 Oct 1998 in Osprey, Sarasota, Florida; was buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Saint Louis, Gratiot, Michigan. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  1. 2.  Paul Parker Cameron Descendancy chart to this point (1.Edith1) was born on 24 Jan 1943 in Flint, Genesee, Michigan; died on 23 Nov 1967 in Huron County, Michigan; was buried on 27 Nov 1967 in Oak Grove Cemetery, St. Louis, Michigan.

    Notes:

He drowned when his small craft capsized in a Thanksgiving-weekend storm in Saginaw Bay. Four young men were pitched into the water; two of them were rescued, and two drowned.

According to Jeannette Hayden, he was supposed to report to his induction center the following week, and just prior to the funeral, the director of the induction center arrived to, as she put it, make sure he was really dead. She was summarily ejected by the outraged family.

PNH's grandfather Everett White was present for this funeral and the event preceding it, and reportly much grieved. Less than two weeks later he, too, was dead.
