He called me just now, as soon as he got off stage. The ceremony is still going on. I am amazed and delighted, also still waking up.
Hurrah!
And Girl Genius just won. Hurrah again!
Lovely phone call, wasn't it? I was especially charmed by the comment during his acceptance speech about about his "unfilled ambition...to win when Teresa is IN THE ROOM." (As reported by Mur Lafferty on the live text feed.)
Awesome! Congratulations, Patrick.
Congratulations, Patrick!
He won because he's the best editor. I mean, obviously. Yay!
Also, have you noticed, he always wins when there's a really pretty base?
And another in the chorus: congratulations!
Um, there seem to be two versions of this thread.
Jo @ #5: I'm pretty sure he plans it that way....
Well deserved. Congratulations!
Yay! Congratulations!
Definitely well earned!
Congratulations!
Congratulations. The Hugo base looks particularly pretty this year. Sort of Art Nouveau.
Congratulations to Patrick, and to ALL the Hugo winners!
Congratulations! Yay and joy.
Splendid news! Congratulations to Patrick and to the Fogli!
Yay! Patrick's getting quite a collection of awards. You guys may need a stouter mantelpiece.
Long ebullient string of YAYs!
Danny and Becca join in (after Bec clarified the matter: "You mean my left foot won a Hugo?!")
Congrats!
Note to past self: Go back and add "future Hugo winner" to the Sci-Con flyers where the NHs were Editor Guests of Honor.
Wait; that was HOW long ago? Jeeminy.
Wow! Congratulations!
Note to self: in future, you must address Patrick as "TTHAWE Patrick" in formal contexts...should you ever be in a formal context with Patrick.
Alternative time line version of this post here
Congratulations once again, Patrick.
Jubilation and glee! Virtual confetti and champagne toasts all around.
Many well-deserved congratulations!
So awesome! Congratulations, Patrick!
V. pleased about Girl Genius too. :)
It doesn't say which particular work the award was for.
*happydances*
Congratulations, Patrick!
*more happydances, this time with noisemakers and champagne*
Congratulations indeed, Patrick. Glad to join in the chorus.
Congratulations! That's great news.
Congratulations Patrick! Once you and your new Hugo get home, you and Teresa can run around the living room playing SpaceWar with your two Hugos as the spaceships!
I'll add my congratulations on this thread too. Way to go, Patrick! Fireworks and dancing in the street are now in order.
YAY for Patrick.
Yay for Girl Genius.
Adding congratulations from the mid-Pacific time zone. Yay, Patrick!
Congratulations, Patrick! This is full of awesome.
Congratulations, Patrick!
And congratulations to the other Hugo winners!
Congrats, Patrick!
And may the next one come to you when Teresa is in the room!
Congratulations, Patrick!
Congratulations, Patrick; that is splendid.
P.
Erik Nelson, #35, editor awards, like artist and so forth, aren't for a specific work, but for the work of the year.
Congratulations Patrick - and Charlie Stross too and any other award winners who might cruise by making Light.
Last night was the first time I've actually been to the Hugos, and the first con that's 'clicked' for me - a very pleasant occasion.
Dancing rodents! I mean, Conga rats!
And Seanan McGuire won the Campbell.
(Private message to Teresa: West Virginia is waiting to hear from you.)
oops, wrong thread of congratulations
Slightly belated congratulations!
I'd heard something about Patrick encouraging diversity in the award by withdrawing his name from future nominations. Is that true? (I'm not saying it's a bad idea, nor that it's a good idea, I was just wondering if it's the case.)
Congratulations to Patrick! And to the other winners, too, of course.
Oh, hurray! And congratulations, Patrick!
And since I'm not generally given to using exclamation points, and I've just used two, I must now go and delete them from the total number allotted for this particular five-year-period...
Yay! Congratulations, Patrick!
> I'd heard something about Patrick encouraging diversity in the award by withdrawing his name from future nominations. Is that true?
I'm not sure if it was "future" or "next year", but something was said.
HUGE congrats to both of you! When one Nielsen Hayden wins, *all* Nielsen Haydens win.
Not to rain on Patrick's well-deserved congrats, but I'm hoping Teresa wins one while he's in the room.
Terry@63, it may be the wrong thread, but I'm still so pleased to see Seanan getting the award. I think of her mainly as a musician, because she's been doing that at (San Francisco Bay Area) local cons for years, but it's good to see her succeeding at writing.
And Yay, Patrick, and Yay, Foglios!
It's funny. I have a sweetheart in New York, who is close friends with Seanan. When she came out here, we went to see Seanen.
Which was when I met her, and found out I am friends, and have been for decades, with one of her cousins.
So I was pleased to see her win.
Congratulations to all who won, be they Nielsen Haydens, other Fluorosphereans, lurkers or just plain folks. I wish a combination of too much study and too little money hadn't kept me from the con. Perhaps next time a worldcon wanders down under I'll be there to do all that congratulating in person. Until then, imagine the hand that isn't typing this is raising a glass in your honour.
Congratulations from a member of the lurking choir!
Congratulations.
I'm trying to find a good photo to link to, and the only one I've seen so far is sideways.
Hooray! Congratulations, Patrick!
Congrats! YAAY for the home team!
Congratulations, Patrick. :)
Belated congratulations from me as well.
Congratulations, later than somewhat!
( I don't actually seem to have posted in here. "Sure" and "Correct" are not the same thing. )
Congrats, Patrick. Well deserved!

And goddamnded annoying spam at that. Patrick's win doesn't deserve a spammer tag at the end.
