I, like everyone else, will wait with joyful anticipation for your next post. But here are a few questions I'm sure everyone wants the answers to:
1. Did you have a good time, or was it pure TORture?
2. Did you go straight there and straight back, or did you take a more TORtuous path?
3. Were you under a lot of pressure? And was it linear pressure, or TORque?
4. Now that you're resting, are you in TORpor?
5. Are you only too glad to be home, or did you have to be TORn away from San Jose?
6. Were you isolated from the news, or did you hear about the terrible TORnado in (I think) Ohio?
7. Is it just your limbs that are tired, or your TORso as well?
At this point a group of four kids and a dog stopped me from writing more. And I would have gotten away with it, too...
I returned to work yesterday, and let me tell you that Apache's mod_rewrite is nearly as arcane as defining First Fandom. Maybe Art will write a HowTo doc for both.
Frankly the notion that I'd be eligible, under the old definition, for First Fandom in a mere ten years scares me (ArmadilloCon 4 was my introduction). I'm happier with being a FoFF.
Wait, I've moved back to the idea we're supposed to have been active in 1938, and have stomped our walkers, to qualify for FF.
Life is so confusing. Almost as confusing as life extension. Where is that Asimov personality download file? Will it conflict with my Moskowitz personality download? I'm working in a computer store, so I need to know.
Anxiously,
Christine, and I may sue.
That's SLAY, mister. Honestly, Who's your master?
Geez, Fr...wait! Fred! You're one of those meddling KIDS!!!!
[subsides, muttering, into the warm folds of his stylish wrap-around-sleeved jacket]
Saw you in a couple of awards snapshots posted to the Councilof Elrond site. You got to meet Sean (Samwise Gamgee) Astin??
Best,
John F
Yup, a bunch of people at Worldcon did.
Sala Baker, the actor who played Sauron, was
there too.
I have some Hugo photos up at:
http://www.dpsinfo.com/awardweb/hugos/00s.html#2002
I didn't see Sean or Sala at the parties later,
but I did see them talking to Connie Willis
just outside of the Fairmont about a half
hour after the Hugos were over.
