So, have you bought the "1000 Years of Popular Music" CD yet? If not, you must!
I agree with Chuck.
The best album of this time is
not ava in any store, but on a
web site.
You haven't heard anything like
this before and it's great fun.
For your whole family.
Check it out!
The Gilbert and Sullivan track is my favorite of many good ones. "Sam Hall" is briliant and so is the Who's Legal Matter.
OK, and where on this web site can one find the ordering information for this wonderful album? I've looked, but I must be missing something.
OK Simon, good question.

I haven't heard the entire 1000 Years album yet but Richard did some selections from it at a recent live concert--fascinating and diverse collection of music. His new studio album The Old Kit Bag is a superb cd, also.
Thank you, Flip & kdt. I already knew I wanted it if available; all I was looking for was how to order it. That's now done.
Y'know, I never thought that a 16th Century song in medieval Italian would be so damned catchy that I can't get it out of my head.
"So ben mi ca bon teeeem-po
So ben mi ca bon teeeem-po
Fa la la LAAAAAA, la la la la la la laaaaaaa!"
I was lucky enough to be at the second of the "1000 Years" concerts at the Getty Museum that were recorded for this album. I think I may have been the only person in the audience who didn't titter or guffaw when he started doing "Oops! I Did It Again", and had to lean over to my partner and ask him why everyone was laughing.
"It's a Britney Spears song!"
"... Oh."
