    Called "the Pilgrim." Prince of Mecklenburg. Fought in the crusade against the Lithuanians. In 1272, on pilgrimage to the Holy Land, he was taken prisoner near Acre and imprisoned in Cairo for 26 years. On his release he returned to Mecklenburg where he died shortly after arriving.
