His brother-in-law John Noyse, husband of his wife's sister Anne Crispe, was burned at the stake for heresy at Laxfield, 22 Sep 1557, as recorded in Foxe's Book of Martyrs. Nicholas Fiske is noted for having visited John Noyse at the Guildhall in Norwich, where he was being held prisoner prior to his execution, to comfort him, to inquire if he feared death, and to determine the cause of his condemnation.
