  1. 4.  John Dudley was born about 1505; died after 1544.

    Notes:

Onomastic evidence suggests that this John Dudley's wife may have been named Joan. He is not, however, the John Dudley, married to a Joan, who became Duke of Northumberland and attempted to place his son Guilford and daughter-in-law Lady Jane Grey on the throne, resulting ultimately in the execution of John, Guilford, and Lady Jane. No connection has been found between the line of Dudleys set forth here and that baronial family. Nor has a connection been found between either line of Dudleys and the Dudley family of Bay Colony governor Thomas Dudley (1576-1673), although the latter is a proven "gateway ancestor" through his mother Susanna Thorne.

    Children:
    1. 2. Miles Dudley was born about 1530; died before 4 May 1597; was buried on 4 May 1597 in Dorking, Surrey, England.
