    Children:
    1. 1. Cyrus M. Currier was born about 1833 in Kennebunk, York, Maine; died on 21 Aug 1900 in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts.

Generation: 3

  1. 4.  Abraham Currier was born on 25 Mar 1759 in Amesbury, Essex, Massachusetts (son of Edmund Currier and Susanna Kimball); died on 24 Mar 1846 in Kennebunkport, York, Maine; was buried in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, York, Maine.

    Notes:

He was placed on the pension roll of York County, Maine, in 1831, for his service in the Revolution as a private on the Massachusetts Continental Army line.

Abraham married Lydia Kimball on 5 Jun 1784 in Wells, York, Maine. Lydia (daughter of Nathaniel Kimball and Joanna Mitchell) was born in 1763; died on 7 Oct 1832 in Kennebunk, York, Maine; was buried in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, York, Maine. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  2. 5.  Lydia Kimball was born in 1763 (daughter of Nathaniel Kimball and Joanna Mitchell); died on 7 Oct 1832 in Kennebunk, York, Maine; was buried in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, York, Maine.

    Notes:

That her maiden name was Kimball is established in the Maine record of the 1895 death of her daughter Lydia. That she was baptised in Kennebunk 1 Jan 1764, a daughter of Nathaniel Kimball and Joanna Mitchell, and this this same Lydia Kimball is the one that married Abraham Currier, is reportedly documented in a manuscript by Richard Somers Thompson (1854-1924), Records of Kennebunk and Kennebunkport Families, at the Maine Historical Society. Note that, assuming this account is correct, she and her husband were first cousins.

    Notes:

Date of intention. The marriage is said to have taken place on 16 Nov of the same year.

    Children:
    1. 2. Edmund A. Currier was born about 1789 in Kennbunkport, Maine; died on 4 Aug 1872; was buried in Hope Cemetery, Kennebunk, York, Maine.

  3. 6.  Israel Kimball was born about 1773 (son of Israel Kimball and Eleanor Dennett); died on 24 Oct 1823 in Kennebunk, York, Maine.

    Notes:

Following his death, his widow had to sell off part of his estate. The account of that sale, dated 19 Apr 1825, lists Esther Currier among the "heirs to the estate of Israel Kimball junr. decd." [York County probate docket #10907, citation details below]

Israel married Elizabeth "Betsey" Evans on 21 Mar 1796 in Wells, York, Maine. Elizabeth (daughter of Benjamin Evans and Elizabeth Ricker) was born on 15 Feb 1772; died after 21 Mar 1825. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

  4. 7.  Elizabeth "Betsey" Evans was born on 15 Feb 1772 (daughter of Benjamin Evans and Elizabeth Ricker); died after 21 Mar 1825.

    Other Events:

    • Alternate birth: of Wells, York, Maine
    • Alternate death: Aft 29 Jan 1824

    Notes:

The generally well-done Ancestry of Pam & Jeff Martin site asserts that Israel Kimball was married twice, first to Elizabeth "Betsey" Evans and secondly to Betsy Durrell. But Harold Clarke Durrell's "Philip Durrell and His Descendants" (The New England Historical and Genealogical Register 133:40, 1979) indicates that Betsy Durrell (1782-1869) married a different Israel Kimball, the one who was a son of Isaac3 (Richard2, Caleb1) and Sarah Stone. Which leads us to believe that our Israel Kimball was married only once, and that his one and only wife was Betsey, said to have died in Kennebunk 11 Mar 1843, a daughter of Benjamin Evans and Elizabeth Ricker.

    Notes:

    Date of intention.
