    Notes:

    Captain of Calais, 1348 and 1349; knight of the shire for Worcestershire, 1352 and 1355.

    He was in the sea battle at Sluys in 1340, and served extensively in the French wars. He was in the king's company at Crécy, and was at the subsequent siege of Calais. He was appointed Admiral of the Fleet for protecting the passage to Calais, 17 Aug 1349, following which he returned to France and appears to have served in the Poitiers campaign.

    John married Isabel Attwood before 25 Mar 1345. Isabel (daughter of Robert Attwood) died after 1363. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
