  "African-American Ewing researchers may be interested to know that a free black family is associated with the George Ewing household. In 1820 and 1830 they were enumerated with the white Ewings. In 1840 and 1850 they were in their own household. The husband of this African-American--Sye? or Li? Ewing--was born about 1779 in Virginia.
