    • Steward of the King's Household, 1350-56. Founding member of the Order of the Garter, 23 Apr 1349. Summoned to Parliament from 15 Nov 1338 to 15 Dec 1357, by writs directed Johanni de Grey de Rotherfield.

      In January 1332 he had a quarrel with William la Zouche Mortimer, 1st Lord Zouche of Zouche's Castle, and drew his knife on him in the king's presence. He was committed to prison, and sought pardon on 27 March 1332 and had restoration.
