    • Came to Weymouth, Massachusetts from Great Missenden, Buckinghamshire in 1639; subsequently removed to Lynn, Ipswich, and Topsfield.

      He took the oath of fidelity 30 Sep 1651, but he never became a "freeman" of the colony, probably because of his unusually liberal religious views. He maintained friendships with Baptists and Quakers, despite the heavy penalties for "harboring" or "entertaining" the latter.
