Notes - First recorder of Farmington, Connecticut, 1645. Sergeant and captain in the Narragansett campaign of King Philip's War, 1675. He was one of the first slaveowners in Farmington, and left his slaves (two Natives) by will to his second wife, Mary Cheever. It is said that after his death they were given their freedom.
