  Summoned to Parliament by writs dated 24 Jun 1295 to 11 Jun 1309. Fought for the king in Wales in 1279, 1282, and 1283; in Scotland 1291, 1299, and 1300-03; and in Gascony, 1294-95. In 1299 he was released from being a hostage in London by reason of his debts to the merchants Bayonne for expenses incurred by him in Gascony. He was a justice of trailbaston in 1305 and 1307, and served on numerous commissions of oyer and terminer.
