Notes - He is said in several sources, including "People and Events of Yesteryear: Charles Albert Squier" (citation details below), to have served in the War of 1812. ancestry.com contains an entry for a "Squire, Daniel" in its War of 1812 Pension Application Files Index 1812-1815, which states his service to have been "Capt. H. Pratt's Co. N.Y. Mil." Whether this is our Daniel Squire is not established, although the (well-documented) fact that our Daniel Squire's father fought in the Revolution does add credence to the idea.
"Daniel Squier Sr. [...] was also a skilled artisan and a manufacturer of wooden mouldboard plows, wagons and woolen and linen spinning wheels." ["People and Events of Yesteryear: Charles Albert Squier" (citation details below)]
"Daniel Squier who married Sarah Ann Lytle left Camden Valley [in Washington County, New York] for Riga, Monroe County, New York in 1827. In 1847 he moved to Kingston, Wisconsin." [Francis A. Baker, citation details below]
