    • At age eighteen, he came with his uncle, John Rolfe, on the Confidence, saling from Southampton 24 Apr 1638. First at Salisbury, then Haverhill. Literate, constable, selectman, etc.

      He was the benificiary of this ominous-sounding bequest in the will of another uncle, Henry Rolfe: "I doe give unto my Kinsman Thomas whittear a swarme of bees."
