• Notes

  According to the 1895 birth certificate of his granddaughter Rose (on which she is called Eufrosina Simmetová), he was "obchodníka z Rudoltic cp.7 [...] okres Domazlice", which is to say, a merchant from Rudoltice, house number 7, in the Domazlice district. This Rudoltice, one of at least six places of that name in the modern Czech Republic, is a mere thirteen miles from Chalupy, home of George Simmet who married Josefa's daughter Anna.
