Notes - He became an Anabaptist around 1609 and was later a minister and one of the leaders of the church. In 1636 he was accused of performing marriages and baptisms, and he was imprisoned four times. By 1650 he was in hiding in the Zurich highlands. It is said that the settlement of his estate took a hundred years because his heirs had to prove that they were members of the (official) Reformed Church in order to collect their share.
