Notes - He arrived in 1623 on the Little James, and settled at Plymouth. He was a brewer and a miller. He could speak Dutch, and the inventory of his estate contained a number of books and a small globe of the world. He is sometimes called "gent" or "gentleman" in contemporary records. The record of his marriage says that he came from Norwich in Norfolk.
