  • Notes
    • Also called David Lloyd. He was an illegitimate son of John Yale, heir of Plâs yn Iâl.

"He matriculated at Queens' College, Cambridge, 1555, where he received three degrees, B.A., 1563-4, M.A., 1567, LL.D., 1579. He became a Fellow of Queens' College, 1565-81, a Proctor, 1575-6, and was admitted an Advocate, 3 Feb. 1581/2. He was Rector of Llandegla, Denbighshire, 1564-73, Vicar of High Offley, Staffordshire, 1572-3, Prebendary of St. Asaph, 1578, Prebendary of Chester, 1582-1608, Chancellor of Chester, 1587-1608. He became Vicar General to Bishop George Lloyd of Chester 23 June 1607." [Royal Ancestry, citation details below]

Royal Ancestry gives the date of David Yale's will as 16 June 1626, evidently in error; according to Curfman (citation details below), Yale's will was dated 15 August 1625, he died sometime in the first part of 1626, and 16 June 1626 was the date of his probate.
