  The identity of Simon Bensley's parents is unproven, whereas the identity of his paternal grandparents is known from his grandfather Thomas Bensley's will. Based on careful reasoning and the fact that the Bensley family appears to have closely followed English customs of the time in the naming of their children, Richard L.
