    • John D. Austin (citation details below) says "b. prob. Eastham, perh. 10 March 1658 if the birth record of 'Eliezer' in fact refers to this son." From the 12 May 1705 will of Thomas Paine, however, it seems clear that Elisha Paine was his son.
