• Notes

  Sire de Werchin. Seneschal of Hainaut. In 1340, while in the service of Willem IV, Graaf van Holland en Henegouwen, he surprised and attacked the force of Jean, duke of Normandy, son of Philippe VI, king of France, while it was besieging the town of Montay in northern France.
