Notes - "In 1297 Richard I was summoned to perform military service in person, with horses and arms, in parts beyond the seas, the muster to be at London 7 July, as holding land in co. Northants., worth £20 yearly; and in 1300 from co. Lincoln, as holding lands worth £40 yearly, evidently Reston and Carleton, the muster to be at Carlisle 24 June for service against the Scots. In 1303 these lands were still being credited to William Chamberlain and Henry Lekeburn. Also in 1303 Richard had one-third fee in Catsden, co. Hertford. In 1308 he was a conservator of the peace in co. Hertford, in 1320 knight of the shire for co. Northants, and in 1324 knight summoned to attend the great council at Westminster." [F.N.
