Fort Collins, Colorado voters opt for an Atkins-compatible State Senate:

As a liberal vegetarian, I must admit that I am feeling torn.
I believe the fellow who does the "Just Enough" segment on Rachel Maddow's show pointed this one out, with the comment, "Bacon defeats Fries--it's morning in America!"
But, if it was Curly Fries, he would have won.
I'm looking forward to the multicultural runoff of M Poutine vs. Chip Buddy as well.
I first saw that at Scalzi's place; due to his BaconCat predilection, somebody sent him a similar screenshot.
Interestingly enough, both Scalzi and Bacon are Democrats.
Oooh...On the one hand, we have the great (ok granted, I'm Catholic and biased, *I* think he's great) Roger Bacon facing off against Jakob Friedrich Fries? Tchah! As close as I live to Heidelberg, that won't make me cast my vote for the local boy!
Poddy Fries was running for State Senate?
Ooh, my heart hurts just looking at that.
Will this mean more pork in Colorado?
I wonder what Art & Terri Hardin thought of their campaign.
Hold on... That's *not* photoshopped?!?
I guess Denver doesn't want fries with that.
In Germany, I think the politician with *by far* the most amusing name is this guy:

(Yes, he's real.)
I first saw this on Whatever as well, and loved one of the comments:

Oh, damn the partisanship! If Bacon and Fries can’t go together, I don’t want to live in a democracy anymore!
Will this mean more pork in Colorado?
I'm in favor of earmarks for tasty delis throughout the state. I can personally vouch for the spicy wild boar sandwiches at the Boulder Creek Market.
Most people don't want earmarks for breakfast.
If we had gotten fries, would we also have gotten some Laurie?
Ah, my home town! I understand I might get to visit there next spring. First time since 2004. I always think I'll get to go home, like, once a year, and it always turns into every four or five.
Anyway... this one is in pretty questionable taste, but it's 100% true that I got to vote for both Massa and Koons this week. I had thought about photographing one of the Massa signs with a caption, "Meet the new boss..."
After losing the election, shouldn't Fries be Toast?
My favourite politician name is still the Surinamese deputy, Frank Playfair.
