Your astrology moment. Today is both Jim Henley’s and Kevin Drum’s birthday. And indeed, the similarities are obvious. Jim has always reminded me of Louis Althusser (October 19, 1918), while the estimable Calpundit’s similarities to Divine (October 19, 1945) are the talk of Champaign-Urbana, Illinois.

More to the point, though: I’m older than Jim Henley? That can’t be right. There ought to be a law. Er, a voluntary expression of several individual and firmly independent views. Remember, Probity is Theft. Or “Proudhon is Impossible.” I get so confused. [10:39 PM]

I think Kevin Drum bears more resemblance to John Lithgow, born 10/19/1945.

Any discussion of coincident birthdays has to take into account the troika of Dave Langford, Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov, and me: the Worldcon committee of your worst nightmares.

Of course, Max von Sydow and Harry Morgan were born that day too, so there's someone to play Dave and myself in the movie.

Well, they may share a birthday with Divine, but I share a birthday with RuPaul!

Oh, bugger. No I don't. Wiki got it wrong.

Well, I have now added to the accuracy of the internet by correcting that Wiki page.

Well, there's still Rock Hudson and Milla Jovovich; between them they sort of comprise a RuPaul of sorts.

Which reminds me of my standard response when someone demands to know my "sign."

"You tell me."

World's rarest headline: "PSYCHIC WINS LOTTERY AGAIN."

Xopher ::: (view all by) ::: October 20, 2003, 01:09 PM:

Now, now, Patrick. Psychics don't play the lottery; they know who's going to win, and it isn't them. Also, they know it's rigged...

I live in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois. What's all this about Kevin Drum and Divine? I don't hear them talking about it at Cafe Kopi.

I was, I confess, merely using Shampoo-Banana, Illinois as a metasyntactical variable for Any Place Where They Would Be Unlikely To Be Having Such A Discussion.

I mean, everybody uses Peoria, or Kalamazoo.

Or Hoboken, or Albuquerque...

(Myself, I prefer East Hendrikeva, Montana.)

Well, I read both blogs regularly and both of them make me laugh regularly. Both of them make me groan regularly but not usually about the same things.

Hey! Maybe there *is* something to this astrology stuff.

My favorite birthday trifecta is Bob Marley, Ronald Reagan, and my father. It beats Joan Baez/Richard Nixon, and Frank Zappa/Mike Curb (who put Zappa off MGM as a drug act, while keeping Eric Burdon).
