Notes - "Comfort was fifer in Capt. James Franklin's Company, in Col. Daggett's Regiment R.I.A.; enlisted Jan. 1, 1778 and served three months: enlisted again as fifer in Capt. Nathaniel Carpenter's, No. 607, Company, Col. Carpenter's Regiment in Rhode Island Alarm; July 20, 1777; served one month, five days and marched from Rehoboth to Bristol; he enlisted a third time as fifer in Capt. Jacob Fullers Company in Col. Jacobs Regiment; May 22, 1778, served seven months and six days; served in Rhode Island; he enlisted again as fifer in Capt. Nathaniel Ide's Company, Col. Thomas Carpenter's, No. 775, Regiment, in the Rhode Island Alarm; Aug. 16, 1779, served one month; he enlisted again as fifer in Capt. John Perry's Company, Col.
