• Notes

  Chevalier, Seigneur d'Herelle, Comte de Roye. Grand Chamberlain of France. He accompanied Philippe II Augustus on the Third Crusade and fought at the Battle of Bovines on 27 July 1214. In 1221 he founded the abbey of Joyenval which housed the relics of St. Clotilde and became the burial place of the house of Roye.
