  Often asserted to have emigrated to Maryland in the 1633-34 expedition of the Ark and the Dove, he is not one of the ancestors accepted for membership in the expedition's heritage society. He nonetheless appears to have arrived in Maryland relatively early, possibly as early as the 1630s. He is often said to have come from Wales.
