• Notes

  Her Maine death record on ancestry.com (citation details below), which is a "copy of an old record of a death", agrees with her gravestone that she died on 15 Apr 1844, but says that she died at age 19 years and 23 days. Her gravestone, which calls her "CYNTHIA WITHERELL wife of Wm. B. Shaw", says "49ys. 23ds." It seems clear that the Maine transcriber left a stroke off of what was meant to be a numeral 4.
