  • Notes
    • The Ancestry of Eva Belle Kempton 1878-1908, Part II does not list Abigail among the children of the younger Daniel Hovey and his wife Esther Treadwell, which is reasonable given that her birth record has not been found. And some older sources claim that the Abigail Hovey who married Thomas Hodgkins was a daughter of the older Daniel Hovey, not the younger one. But "my dafter Abigal" is mentioned in the younger Daniel's 1695 will, and "Abigel Hodkins wife of Thomas Hodgkins" appears in her grandfather Daniel Hovey's will of 21 Mar 1691/2 in a context that makes it clear that she is not one of the daughters of the older Daniel Hovey. Also, chronologically she is obviously more plausible as a daughter of the younger Daniel.
